Woody is the main minifigure in the Toy Story theme.

Desciption

Woody is one of two Toy Story minifigures, alongside Jessie, to feature extra-long legs and arms that are, so far, unique to the Toy Story line. His head and hat form a single piece, and his torso sports back printing, showing a pull-string that, in the movies, activates Woody's electronic voice. He has two variations; one regular, and one stained. Woody is only made in Chinese plastic due to the high number of new moulds he requires.

Background

Woody is one of the protagonists of the three Toy Story films and is the favourite toy of his owner, Andy. This made him the leader, and most respected, of Andy's toys, and he makes sure that all the toys are well cared for. In the first Toy Story movie, Andy received a Buzz Lightyear toy for his birthday that threatened to replace Woody, but they eventually come to form a solid friendship when it emerges that Andy loves both of them. In the second movie, Woody is stolen by a dealer who plans to sell him to a Japanese museum. He discovers that there used to be a television show about him and his friends, whom the dealer has already located - Jessie the yodeling cowgirl, Bullseye the horse and Stinky Pete the prospector. They're all happy to be in a museum, having had bad experiences with children, and convince Woody to join them, but Buzz and the other toys convince him that being with Andy is worth it even if he won't love him forever. By the time of the third movie, Andy is ready to leave for college and most of his toys wind up at a local daycare center. The leader of the daycare toys, Lotso the bear, runs the place like a prison camp so Woody helps them to escape.
