The Shredder is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles minifigure first released in 2013. He is the franchise's main antagonist.

Appearance

The Shredder's helmet is metallic silver and has three horns on the top that are connected to a ridge that runs above his eye slot. The bottom of his eye slot has a metal veil that hides his mouth. His head has an angry expression with one of his eyes totally white. Half of his head is heavily scarred and disfigured. The Shredder wears silver, metal pauldrons that have three blades on each side the same pieces are used for weapons by Setam in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. He also has a dark blue cape that sits on his pauldrons.

2012 Animated Series

Oroku Saki (also known as the Shredder) was the deadly and nefarious leader of the Foot Clan and Splinter and the Ninja Turtles' vengeful arch-nemesis. He takes on the role of one of the main antagonists of the Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 Series.

The Shredder's first appearance was in Rise of the Turtles as Master Splinter explained to Leonardo about his first failure, trying to protect his family from his vengeful rival and old friend, Oroku Saki (a.k.a. The Shredder). Saki lashed out at Hamato Yoshi (Splinter's original identity) in his home. During the ensuring chaos, Hamato's house is lit on fire and Yoshi's wife, Tang Shen, is killed by the Shredder's blind rage. After a long fight, Saki leaves Yoshi for dead in the burning house, believing that Yoshi would eventually perish. However this was not the case. In Japan, Saki (who has of recently formed a clan of ninjas called The Foot) saw a television news bulletin from America in which it shows how 'Ninjas' are operating in New York. As the bulletin continued, he caught a glimpse of a shuriken with Yoshi's insignia. Now realizing the status of his 'old nemesis', Saki dons his helmet and leads the Foot to America where he intends to visit his, 'old friend'.

Notes

He uses Setam's claw braces.
His helmet is also used by the Dummy from 79103 Turtle Lair Attack, as the Dummy itself is supposed to resemble the Shredder.
His scarred printing on the side of his face is similar to that of Two-Face's 2012 redesign, though in different color and on the other side of the face.
His movie variant reuses Lex Luthor's head, which has also been used on Tor-An and a Sith Trooper.
The original 2012 variation of the Shredder resembles the version of the Shredder seen in the original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with the light maroon chain mail and the dark cape, but minus the cloudy eye and the chestplate.
