Class 4 article

Professor Sybill Trelawney was the Divination teacher at Hogwarts, and although she believes herself to be a great Seer, real prophecies made by her are rare and some consider her a fraud due to her seemingly ineffective methods. She has only appeared in one set so far.

Background

Trelawney was given the post of Divination professor by Professor Dumbledore because she made a prophecy about Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. In Harry's third year they got their Divination lessons from her, but aside from the rare instances when she made actual prophesies (which she did not remember when she awoke from her trance) she was pretty bad at her job, according to Harry and Ron Weasley, with Hermione firmly believing her to be a fraud. She also had a habit of constantly predicting Harry's death, claiming Harry's tea leaves predicted the Grimm, a dog-like death omen that Harry had seen earlier that year (this later turned out to be Sirius Black). However, later in the year she gave another real prediction, saying that Voldemort's most faithful servant would rejoin him. During the reign of Professor Umbridge, she did badly in the inspection and Umbridge considered her fraudulent, and Trelawney was fired. However, she was still given shelter at Hogwarts Castle. A record of her Prophecy concerning Harry and Voldemort was the major object year 5 was about. It was eventually destroyed during the final battle at the Ministry of Magic.

Description

The Trelawney mini-fig wears a blue dress with gauzy shawls and cloaks and bangles all covered with shining sequins, making her appear like a glittering insect. She had thick glasses, which caused her eyes to appear about ten times their normal size. She talks in ethereal and misty tones, and the minifig of her has a pink wizard hat. She dresses similarly to Professor McGonagall as she uses a sloping brick for a dress piece, except in different colors, and Trelawney doesn't wear a cape.
