Part 48812 is a LEGO element used to represent wolves or dogs. It first appeared in 2004 as part of two Harry Potter sets where it was molded in Dark Stone Grey and represented Sirius Black in his dog form. Since 2006, the part only appeared in its reddish brown variant to represent dogs, especially police dogs.
