Glóin minifigure has brown short legs, and a red torso piece. The torso has printing present on the front, depicting a brown belt and a large silver belt buckle. The hands and headpiece are flesh-coloured. The headpiece features black eyes with white pupils, bushy orange eyebrows, he also has dark skin colour for the outlining of facial features. He has a new bushy orange hair/beard piece. Glóin also comes with other accessories- 2 axes which are the same ones his son Gimli uses.
Glóin was one of the Dwarves of Thorin Oakenshield's company who set out to reclaim Erebor. He appears in The Hobbit and in The Fellowship of the Ring.
Glóin was known to have fought in the Battle of Azanulbizar the last battle of the War of the Dwarves and Orcs. Glóin and his brother, Oin, were among the dwarves accompanying Bilbo Baggins and Thorin Oakenshield during their quest to Erebor to recapture it from the dragon Smaug. He was noted for his skills with a tinderbox and fought in the Battle of the Five Armies. After the battle, he settled in Erebor.
Glóin died at the age of 253 years.

- John-Rhys Davies, who played Gimli and Treebeard in The Lord of the Rings trilogy in addition to Sallah in the Indiana Jones films, made an uncredited cameo as Glóin in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. He also played Kingpin in The Trial of the Incredible Hulk.
- Glóin is portrayed by Peter Hambleton who also played William the troll in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
