GCPD (Gotham City Police Department) are Minifigures from The LEGO Batman Movie theme in 2017.
Background[]
Acting both ally and opponent to Batman, the GCPD has long steeped in corruption, with numerous officers both high-and-low ranking involved in bribery and even more serious offenses.
LEGO Batman Movie[]
This GCPD officer graduated at the top of her class in sharpshooting at Harvard for Cops. That’s why she gets to carry the big blaster when villains are rampaging through Gotham City. All she has to do is point it and shout “Ptchoo! Ptchoo!” and they go running for cover! Well, it’s either her shooting or the fact that Batman™ has just shown up … or maybe it’s a little bit of both? Bat-Fact: Could totally zap Two-Face’s pistol right out of his hand.
When you’re a member of the Gotham City Police Department, you have to pick up a lot of special skills, like crocodile wrangling and defusing balloons full of laughing gas. This veteran GCPD officer has been on the job long enough that she feels like she’s seen it all, and she’s pretty sure that she’s ready for any weirdness from the city’s super-villain population. But in Gotham City, there’s always a new surprise on the way! Bat-Fact: Ranked 2nd in her class at Harvard for Police after Barbara Gordon!
When Super Villains run amok in Gotham City, this Gotham City police officer is on the job. Keeping constantly in communication with his fellow officers via his official GCPD walkie-talkie, he races to the scene at top speed and carefully places safety barriers down to keep civilians away from the danger. Then all he has to do is stand back and wait for Batman™ to show up and defeat the bad guy! Bat-Fact: I like this guy. He stops people from taking selfies with me while I’m fighting crime.
This Gotham City Police Department officer may just be a rookie, but he’s already encountered some bizarre things in the mean streets of Gotham City. From riddles written across skyscrapers to bird-men in tuxedos driving giant rubber duckies, the city feels like a constant chaotic whirlwind of super-villain plots and schemes. It’s a good thing the police have a hero like Batman to help them out! Bat-Fact: Was inspired to join the GCPD by seeing Batman save the day…again.
