Forums - Unofficial numbers
This page is waiting to be archived by an administrator. Please do not edit the contents of this page.

Now, we obviously like to have everything nice and organized, and everything official. But, with some things, it is easier to have fake item numbers, such as over at Pin53 Bob The Builder. However, with the now working Title template, we can remove the number from the title (and well, change it to anything). If you look, you will see it has a title of "Bob the Builder pin". So, for pages using unofficial numbers (Pin999, KC123, etc) you can now just use {{Title}} to hide it.

  • Support It would be better than having to showcase unofficial information in the articles page. SKP4472 Talk 13,998 Edits! Welcome to Click a Brick! 20:00, September 10, 2012 (UTC)
  • Support - Yeahhh... per SKP, I think this is the best we can do about this. -Konicle2 20:08, September 10, 2012 (UTC)
  • Yes, please. ajr 03:04, September 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • Oppose not the idea, just oppose using unofficial numbers altogether (I didn't know they weren't official). If there's no official number, why use one at all? NightblazeSaber 03:24, September 11, 2012 (UTC)
    • I've brought it up at least twice in the past in chats or forums (or last week on a talk page) and have always been told by different people that it is easier to use them. So I made this instead to at least hide them a bit. I'm fine with removing them, but guess that is sort of a separate issue. ~ CJC 16:44, September 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • Also, useful for things like Jay (LEGO Racers 2). ~ CJC 16:44, September 11, 2012 (UTC)
  • Per NHL, actually. We shouldn't have unofficial numbers (although that makes parts a bit of a problem...) -Cligra Join the redlink war!
    • As I said above to NHL, I agree, but that is a separate (albeit, related) issue to this. ~ CJC 20:48, September 11, 2012 (UTC)

An actual thing on unofficial numbers

I know the title says that but its not really about them, but anyway - Although I have removed some in the past, usually everytime I bring it up, someone tells me how useful they are or that we need them so we don't get confused or stuff, and since everyone else ignores it (or me (or both)), I made this to try and stop them annoying me so much. Anyway:

Although I see the advantages of fake numbers, they (or the lack of a pattern to them) annoy me. So I'm easy (easy like Sunday morning). ~ CJC 20:48, September 11, 2012 (UTC)
