Hi all you LEGO fans out there! My name is Bob and I work for the Community Development team at Wikia! I noticed that because the main page code is done differrently from how we normally set up main pages, there is a chunk of white space at the top, under the navigation bar. I was wondering if you would like some help in fixing it up, so that space isn't there.

This does not mean that I want to change anything on the main page

Let me know if you want the white space removed, if you want the main page to stay as it is, or if you don't mind either way. Thanks! Bob @fandom (profile)•(talk)•(email) 23:06, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, we'd love for you to remove the big box ad on the main page, thus solving the problem. I'm sure you get enough money from the countless ads everywhere else, and the one that is already on the main page anyway. ajr 22:13, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, ajr, ads are a part of being at Wikia. If you have an idea on how to modify the main page while leaving the ad there, please share! Thank you. Bob @fandom (profile)•(talk)•(email) 23:39, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
To be fair it's those ad's that are paying for us to be at comic con (not us personally but the wiki) - 0

CM4S Talk Brick of Dawn!

  • On topic: I can't say I actually saw this problem until I did a Wikia skin preview and switched my ad-blocker off, but it does appear to be the ad that's causing the formatting problems. Since we unfortunately just can't get rid of the ad, I'd say we should find a way to get it into the right-hand column somehow, or at least make it look that way? How about moving {{BrickiNav}} outside the columns and put it at the top next to the ad, and adding a parameter to BrickiNav where you can pass in the width that the template should be? (the default being whatever it currently is so it doesn't affect it in the other places where the template is). I'm not sure if this will actually work though, and I don't currently have time to switch skins and disable my browser extensions, but I can try later on if we want to try this.
