Colour Capitalization

This is something I've noticed a lot recently; the Capitalization and [[linking]] of colours.

Should we use...?

Which one?

Capitalization[]

yellow, unless the laws of English would have it capitalized anyways. It isn't a noun, and shouldn't be capitalized. ajr 18:23, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
  • Capitals are used for the start of sentences (or fragments), or nouns that qualify under automatic capitalization (ie. days, months, names, places, languages, brand names etc.). Therefore only time to capitalize the colours would be the grammatical norm for capitalizing any-word. -- stercus accidit -- cjc 18:34, May 19, 2011 (UTC)

Per Ajr, I just use 'yellow'. Less effort. :P -NBP 18:41, May 19, 2011 (UTC)

  • What about in lists?
The colours under this main colour are bright reddish violet, bright violet, reddish violet.

Looks quite scruffy, I think. Unsigned comment by UltrasonicNXT (talk • contribs).

  • Capitals are used for the start of sentences. So yellow would be okay. •myk 23:59, July 3, 2011 (UTC)
  • Tricky. I'm thinking about it (may take some time :D) NightblazeSaber 07:39, July 4, 2011 (UTC)

Linking[]

  • Alternatives I can see is- link all the time, do not link at all, or link only when referring to a part color (eg, link "part 23423 comes in red/Red", but not "Luke Skywalker was in Red Squadron"). Again, still thinking, but probably leaning towards the third option, with the first coming in second. NightblazeSaber 07:39, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
