928 Galaxy Explorer is a Classic Space set released in 1979. It contains a large spacecraft, a ground base with a landing pad and a small tower, a small space rover and four Classic Space astronauts (two red, two white).
This set was not available in the US, where the identical set 497 Galaxy Explorer was available instead. However, both spacecraft had the number "LL 928" printed onto their hulls.
Description
The cockpit had enough room for two minifigures and could be accessed by tilting back its roof. At the aft, the ship had a large cargo compartment with a loading ramp where the rover could be stored. The rocket engines and the aft fuselage had to be tilted to the sides to access it. The building of the ground base contained a control room and had a large dish antenna on the outside.
Notes
- The spacecraft has a similar colourscheme and design as the smaller spaceships from the sets 918 Space Transport and 924 Transporter.
