700/6 Gift Package was the one of the first LEGO sets ever manufactured. It was released in 1953, part of the LEGO Mursten line. In 1955 the theme name for this set changed to System i Leg. In 1958 it changed again to Lego System, which it remained until it was discontinued in 1965. Unlike other Mursten sets, this box had an outer case and inside sliding drawer between 1953 and 1957.

Description[]

At the beginning 700/6 Gift Package included slotted bricks. In 1956 these were replaced by hollow bottom bricks. Since 1958 it contained tube bottom bricks. A 10x20 baseplate was not included.

Early versions of this set from 1953 through 1954 had only automatic binding bricks type windows and doors without glass. In 1954 they were replaced by tall classic windows and doors with glass. From 1956 to 1965, the set had only the classic type of windows and doors.

Notes[]

From 1953 to 1954 the set contained bricks in four colours, which were red, white, bright yellow, and either light green or medium blue.

Starting in late 1954 the set only contained bright red and white bricks.
