10232 Palace Cinema is a Modular Buildings Expert set released on March 1, 2013 and for V.I.P.'s on February 14, 2013. It contains 2196 pieces to construct a two storey cinema, a black convertible and six minifigures.
Notes
- The building design seems to be inspired by Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.[source?]
- One man has Lord Vampyre's torso, while another has the Ice Cream Vendor's.
- This is the second building from the Modular street layout to have only two floors; the other one being 10197 Fire Brigade.
- One of the movie posters features the designer's names, slightly 'brick-ified'.
- The baseplate of the ground floor, which is red in colour, is unique to this set.
- LEGO VIPs are granted exclusive early access to the set from February 14th.
- This is the third corner building of the series, the other two being 10211 Grand Emporium and 10182 Cafe Corner
- This is the second modular to have a vehicle included.
- The female guest in this set is almost exactly the same as the woman in 10218 Pet Shop; the only difference is red legs compared to dark red legs.
- For a limited time in 2013, a LEGO Movie poster sticker was included with the set. It was based on a real poster and could be used in place of several other posters.
