8460 Pneumatic Crane Truck was originally released in 1995 but was re-released in 2002 and 2003, as 8431 Pneumatic Crane Truck and 8438 Pneumatic Crane Truck respectively.

The main model is a pneumatic crane truck with an extendible boom. All functions of the model are controlled by hand-operated gears, excluding the raising and lowering of the crane arm, which is done pneumatically. These functions include turning the crane and moving the boom, hook and stabilizers. The front and rear wheels can be turned using the lights on the main cab. Although the set does not include any TECHNIC minifigures, it is made to the same scale and they can be used with the model.
The alternate model is a truck with a smaller crane and a loading bay.
